It Begins

What is Code? Is it secret writing? A guide for personal conduct? A list of instructions for a computer? Is it always systematic, in which case how does randomness figure into it?

What about all the subtle signals people send to each other during everyday social interactions? Surely there is some kind of code, one that I never have been able to decipher.

For writing out loud in these turbulent times, I need a topic that does not make me feel anxious. Code could be it.

We shall see.
